PreVail Back Forty entices with a delicious array of intense aromas and flavors including toffee, currants, leather, hints of nutmeg spice, caramel, vanilla, ripe plum, and toasty oak notes. This full-bodied wine has a long, rich finish and smooth, yet structured tannins. 

This wine opens with sultry aromas of dark plum and crème de cassis with a hint of lavender. The palate is plush and structured with layers of dark fruit, nicely integrated oak and rich, velvety tannins. We recommend decanting this wine, especially in its youth, to encourage these bold characters to open up and fully evolve. Pair with pork tenderloin and cherry compote, or grilled New York steak with a demi-glace for an ultra-decadent meal. Rewarding and ready for enjoyment now, the 2022 vintage is also well suited to age for 10-15 years in proper cellaring conditions.

The 2022 Siena opens with aromas of raspberry, cola, caramel, mocha, and chocolate ganache. On the palate, big, juicy plum flavors are accented by baking spice and a hint of butterscotch.

The 2021 Trésor opens with aromas of black currant, lardon, anise, and hints of burnt sugar and lavender. The palate is round, with upfront flavors of Santa Rosa plum and cedar, supported by evolving texture that leads to a strong, lingering finish.

This quintessential cool climate pinot noir has lush aromatics of strawberry jam and fudge covered bacon with hints of baked cookie crumbs, sassafras and mocha. Rich flavors of pomegranate, bright cherries and cola are balanced by a hint of caramelized sugar and vanilla. This big, muscular wine is bright yet full-bodied with structured tannins that is beautiful now but will only get better with time.

This wine opens with delicious aromas of cocoa, plum, blueberry pie and cola, complemented by juicy flavors of pomegranate, black cherry and caramel. This naturally-balanced wine has a velvety texture and a dazzing, layered complexity with lingering notes of rose petal on the finish.

The 2017 Cherryblock is a wine of great complexity, intricacy and sophistication. Waves of rich black fruit wash over the palate, with complex layers of cedar and tobacco. The finish is framed by full soft tannins and lingering notes of herbs and spice.

Deep ruby in the glass, our 2016 Handmade Rutherford Cabernet Sauvignon opens with aromas of vanilla, tobacco, black currant and anise which leads to an exceptionally soft wine across the palate. Complex flavors of dark cherry and blackberry are complemented by hints of cocoa, graphite and savory herbs. This wine is structured with firm but smooth tannins that lead to a satisfyingly long finish.

The 2019 vintage opens with terroir-driven aromatics of crème de cassis, black cherry, baked plum and all-spice. These aromas carry through to a palate that is well structured and full-bodied, with youthful yet firm tannins. A long echoing finish provides additional notes of dark fruit, earth and toasted oak. Complex, velvety and bold, the 2016 Cherryblock delivers a great deal of intricacy and sophistication. The tannins from this vintage were more intense than usual due to the smaller crop size, leading us to blend in a little more Merlot than is typical. Upon opening, deep aromas of dark plum, black pepper, tobacco and clove fill the nose. The palate mirrors the aromas with additional notes of black cherry, leather and savory dried herbs. A soft mouthfeel and smooth, refined tannins linger on the lush finish.

This is an elegant, smooth-textured wine, with a burst of energetic acidity. Dark cherry flavors coat the palate and linger long after the last sip. 

This is a classic Cinq Cepages with signature notes of blackberry jam, red raspberry, milk chocolate and violet. The palate offers a rich, dark fruit density surrounded by well-structured tannins. Layers of generous black plum and fresh-picked blackberries combine with notes of black tea and mocha. This wine has beautiful oak integration anda lushness throughout that leads to a lingering finish with hints of blackberry and clove.

So delicious aromatically, so dense and insanely opaque with opulently deep violet hues matching impressively with dark blue and blackberries alongside fresh-turned earth and minerals, dark soils and tobacco leaf, fresh ground Turkish Coffee and dusty Cocoa ending with subtle notes of Vanilla and Cedar.

Sweet and savory aromatics suggest fresh raspberry, thyme and a hint of meatiness. The tannin, acidity and flavors are nicely knit. Savory herbs and sweet berries are met with a clean mineral finish.

The 2017 Estate Cabernet Sauvignon captures the pure expression of our unique terroir at Lancaster Estate. It is a blend of all five of the red Bordeaux varietals we have planted on our volcanic hillside vineyards. Dark, rich fruit presents aromas of wild game on the nose.
