The 2017 Estate Cabernet Sauvignon captures the pure expression of our unique terroir at Lancaster Estate. Siena has delicious aromas of blackberry, raspberry jam, cocoa, toasty vanilla, licorice, and nutmeg spice that lead to flavors of Bing cherry, blueberry, sweet plums, pomegranate, mocha, sweet oak notes and a hint of butterscotch. SIENA has supple tannins and a balanced mouthfeel with lively elegance and depth.

The 2018 Merus is a dark and powerful wine. Aromas of cassis and blackberry fill the nose, with undertones of vanilla bean, cedar and graphite. A full body and plush velvety tannins fill the mouth with deep flavors of saturated black fruits. Hints of vanilla and a fine grain oak texture from the 100% new French oak aging linger on the finish. Decant for one hour for maximum enjoyment.

The 2010 Cinq Cépages is a stunning color in the glass, deep ruby with a subtle violet colored rim. Layered aromas are vivid; black plum, blackberry compote, clove spice, tanned leather and a hint of fresh tobacco leaf. Secondary aromas of raspberry and spiced cherry mingle with notes of violet and pomegranate. The aromas lead to an incredibly juicy palate with flavors of blueberry, cherry and blackberry. Our 2021 Estate Red opens with savory aromas of black cherry, black raspberry, cigar box, and black tea. The palate is dense and rich with layers of dark chocolate and spices, framed by velvety tannins. This wine will age beautifully over the next 15 years.

The 2019 Estate Cabernet Sauvignon is a bold, yet balanced representation of the varietal and our unique mountaintop estate. It opens with aromas of sage, cherry compote, and blueberry. The palate offers boysenberry, spice and layers of depth with cherry and white pepper notes. The finish is long with plenty of grip.

The 2018 Cinq Cépages opens with inviting aromas of cassis, blackberry jam, a touch of dried currants, leather, and soft nutmeg and cardamom spice notes. The palate offers more dark fruits with rich, ripe, jammy fruit, black cherries, plums and cassis and notes of vanilla and maple spice. The wine is well-structured with silky tannins leading to a satisfying finish. Rewarding and ready for enjoyment now, the 2018 vintage will also evolve over time with proper cellaring.

This 2014 bottling boasts deep, dark fruit aromas. A hint of something cool and distant, akin to marine air, opens up to reveal classic black currant and berry syrup aromas. The aromas carry through onto the silky and rich palate, which fills every corner of your mouth. The tannin, acid, and alcohol are in such balance that wine feels sweet, though it is bone dry. Our Reserve wines are crafted by selecting the vineyard lots from throughout Sonoma County that offer the most generous fruit expression and ability to age. This Reserve Malbec bursts forth with generous aromas of blueberry pie vanilla and white pepper. The nose leads to a lush palate of jammy dark berries and huckleberries framed by sweet toasty oak and leading to a long, rich finish.

The 2022 vintage was another warm and fast-paced year. Warm temperatures continued into summer setting the stage for full ripening, fresh acidity and beautifully balanced fruit. Our 2022 Estate Chardonnay is creamy, rich and elegant with complex aromas and flavors of baked bread, pear, hazelnut, and toasted marshmallow. This is an age-worthy wine of exceptional quality known for its full mouthfeel and exquisite long finish.

Vintage 2016 gave us yet another beautiful vintage in the Napa Valley. This following the fabulous vintages of 2012-2015. Marked by a few late-season heat spells, the wines are as opulent as the 2012's, with the concentration of the 2014s. Rather than crushing and fermenting at 95+ degrees with commercial yeast strains to maximize extraction, Merus is fermented with primarily whole berries at 75 degrees using 100%indigenous yeast. Cooler whole berry fermentations retain more esters specific to the variety and vineyard and allow the yeast to remain viable to absolute dryness.

Our 2018 Peral Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon offers strong black currant and decadent dark chocolate aromas. The palate is big and viscous filled with flavors of black cherry, cassis and oak spice. This is a well-structured and full bodied wine that beautifully displays the quality of our Rutherford Estate terroir. While approachable now, this wine will improve with age and gain complexity over the next 10-15 years.

The Chalk Hill 2023 Estate Chardonnay captures the vibrant, complex and classic character of our estate-grown grapes. We are dedicated to making exceptional Chardonnay, and no detail is overlooked. In the vineyard, focused planting of the ideal clone on each vineyard block, managing yields for optimum ripeness and balance, and the work of a dedicated crew are among the keys to our success. Chardonnay is a winemaker’s grape, molded into its most interesting self by native yeast fermentation and aging in carefully chosen French oak barrels and frequent lees stirring. It is a labor-intensive wine, but the rewards are most certainly worth the hard work and attention.
