The 2018 Estate Cabernet Sauvignon captures the pure expression of our unique terroir at Lancaster Estate. It is a blend of all five of the red Bordeaux varietals we have planted on our volcanic hillside vineyards. The nose is rich with aromas of dark plum, tobacco and black pepper. The wine is well-structured with silky tannins leading to a satisfying finish. Rewarding and ready for enjoyment now, the 2018 vintage will also evolve over time with proper cellaring.

Big and rich, with mouth-filling ripe red and black mountain and benchland fruits accented with black tea, cassis, black licorice, a touch of fennel, black olive and sweet blueberry fruit leather. Hints of cedar cigar box and tobacco sit alongside well-integrated tannins. More structured than Vintage 2015, Cinq Cépages is rewarding today and will reveal complex layers of flavor with proper cellaring.

Upon opening our 2018 Rutherford Cabernet Sauvignon, aromas of black cherry and cassis fill the glass, followed by a hint of mocha. On the palate, bold tannins are balanced with concentrated flavors of ripe fig with savory notes of black olive and dried herbs. Well structured and full bodied, our Cabernet Sauvignon is approachable now, but will age beautifully over the next 5-10 years

This 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon has a focused deep red to purple color with a brilliantly dark core. The nose exudes an initial attack of bright dark cherry, black fruits, purple flowers and cocoa with a background hint of savory herbs. The palate offers nice heft and weight, with elegant flavors of blue and black fruits, roasted coffee, graphite, vanilla and sage. Its full mouthfeel is structured by firm tannins leading into a poised finish.

Complex, velvety and bold, the 2016 Cherryblock delivers a great deal of intricacy and sophistication. The wine fills the glass with deep purple and ruby highlights, followed by intense, concentrated aromas of blackberry, vanilla and baking spices. Waves of rich black fruit wash over the palate, with complex layers of cedar and tobacco. The tannins from this vintage were more intense than usual due to the smaller crop size, leading us to blend in a little more Merlot than is typical. The finish is framed by full soft tannins and lingering notes of herbs and spice.

The deep red-purple color gives the hint of what follows in the nose and mouth. Aromas of black plums, black currants, sweet aromatic herbs, talcum powder, and tar combine to produce a bouquet that is so evocative of the Coombsville area in late fall. It enters the palate with a thick and sweet sensation, flows evenly to all corners of the mouth, and then tapers to a clean and polished finish. This is a classic beauty of a wine.

Our Reserve wines are crafted by selecting the vineyard lots from throughout Sonoma County that offer the most generous fruit expression and ability to age. This Reserve Malbec bursts forth with generous aromas of blueberry pie vanilla and white pepper. The nose leads to a lush palate of jammy dark berries and huckleberries framed by sweet toasty oak and leading to a long, rich finish.

Complex flavors of dark cherry and blackberry are complemented by hints of cocoa, graphite and savory herbs. This wine is structured with firm but smooth tannins that lead to a satisfyingly long finish.

Full-bodied and jam-packed with tightly wound black berry preserves, spice and savory layers, it has a rock-solid frame of grainy tannins and seamless freshness, finishing long and perfumed.
