Enticing aromatics of boysenberry jam and black cherry cola.  On the palate, this wine has moderate tannin with smooth texture with well-integrated tannin and fruit with lush notes of red and black plum, raspberries and chamboard with hints of black pepper accents on the finish.

Our 2021 Handmade Cabernet Franc offers aromas and flavors of autumn leaves, cherry, raspberry, vanilla, graham cracker, and a touch of white pepper. This wine is medium-bodied with great texture and a long finish. Cellared properly this wine will continue to evolve in-bottle for 8-10 years. Serve with braised beef rib with deglazed Cabernet Franc sauce and roasted carrots.

The 2022 Henry Cabernet Sauvignon is an exquisite representation of the varietal and its reputable growing region. The western-facing hillside vineyard where Henry is grown imparts powerful, concentrated aromas, color, and flavors into the wine. Dark fruit, bold tannin, and perfectly balanced acidity make this wine an excellent choice for a steak dinner topped with rich blue cheese butter.

This wine is an inky, deep purple in the glass with aromas of barrel spice, tobacco, leather, and mixed dark fruit. The palate is big and rich, marrying dark chocolate, blackberry, black cherry, and a touch of sweetness. A hint of vanilla lingers on the finish.

Our 2021 Gravel Bed Cabernet Sauvignon is a stunning representation of Sonoma County terroir. Dark fruit characters abound in this deeply layered wine. Black plum and cherry, leather and black tea leaf marry with notes of dark chocolate and sweet toasted oak. Velvety tannins carry this wine through a lengthy, satisfying finish. We recommend pairing with grilled Portobello mushroom burgers with blue cheese, or barbecue beef brisket.

Our 2022 Sophia’s Hillside Cuvée is primarily composed of our young hillside blocks of Cabernet Sauvignon. The fruit from these estate vineyard blocks meld together to create a perfectly balanced, intense wine. It has the fruit-forward youthfulness and freshness of the young Cabernet Sauvignon that is softened and balanced by the French oak aging. Upon opening, deep aromas of ripe blackberry, cassis, and plum are intertwined with hints of graphite, tobacco, and a touch of violet. On the palate, it is full-bodied yet balanced, with rich flavors of dark fruit and baking spice, supported by velvety tannins and bright acidity. The oak adds layers of vanilla and toasted coconut, contributing to a long, structured finish with a touch of minerality. 

Abundant dark fruit aromas with notes of spice, vanilla, and a subtle earthiness waft from the glass. On the palate, the wine is bold, yet the balance of rustic tannins and acid are in perfect harmony. The flavor profile is deeply layered, with evolving characters from entry through the long finish. Each offering of this unique reserve blend shows a distinct personality, influenced by the selection of varietals, growing region and vintage. The 2021 delivers concentrated aromas and flavors of black cherry, fresh blackberry, layers of vanilla, and hints of allspice. Our 2021 Estate Russian River Valley Pinot Noir is silky with a balanced acidity and soft tannins. Aromas include wild strawberry, black cherry, cranberry-spice, and forest floor. Ripe cherry and pomegranate dominate the flavors, along with savory hints of mushroom, clove and baking spices.

The 2022 Little Patch Chardonnay is medium-bodied with a round, rich and creamy texture that is balanced by generous notes of apple pie, baked bread, pineapple, and a hint of vanilla spice. Fresh acidity carries it through the finish.

This wine was especially unique as we worked with Proprietor Carol Ann Foley to create her “perfect” Chardonnay – a fresh, round, fruit-forward, and balanced, yet lighter style with notes of apple, pear, peaches, a hint of citrus, and a slight minerality. It finishes long with a beautifully balanced acidity.

Our 2021 Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon is an elegant expression of the very best of the varietal grown on our Alexander Valley estate. A light perfume of lavender flowers leads to a bold yet refined palate. Robust tannins and flavors of black currant and dark chocolate fill the mouth, concluding with a soft, lingering finish.

The 2022 Reserve Magnolia Merlot opens with juicy aromas of plum, black raspberry, and caramel. The palate is round and lush with ripe black cherry coupled with sweet oak, vanilla, and baking spice. Integrated tannins carry the wine through a long, smooth finish. Serve with mushroom stuffed ravioli, coq au vin, or cassoulet.

The 2023 Reserve Pinot Noir is a stunning wine made by winemaker Greg Freeman that captures the essence of Chalone Vineyard's distinct terroir in a complex, yet refined style. Opulent aromas of bright, crushed black cherry, blackberry preserves, creamy vanilla, and cinnamon lead to a medium-full bodied plate that is an expressive and superb representation of the varietal. This wine offers a full and gratifying mid-plate and generous, lingering finish with hint of violet, clove, and a subtle mineral note. 

Named for late winemaker Patrick (Pat) Foley, this wine was crafted to embody his bold character, fun-loving personality and relentless spirit. Upon opening, aromas of bright red cherry and raspberry integrate with licorice, black pepper and woody spice. The rich mouthfeel suggests plum and blackberry pie with notes of vanilla and tobacco. This wine finishes with excellent structure and is expected to evolve in bottle for the next 12 to 15 years with proper cellaring.

This wine opens with sultry aromas of dark plum and crème de cassis with a hint of lavender. The palate is plush and structured with layers of dark fruit, nicely integrated oak and rich, velvety tannins. We recommend decanting this wine, especially in its youth, to encourage these bold characters to open up and fully evolve. Pair with pork tenderloin and cherry compote, or grilled New York steak with a demi-glace for an ultra-decadent meal. Rewarding and ready for enjoyment now, the 2022 vintage is also well suited to age for 10-15 years in proper cellaring conditions.

The 2022 Cherryblock Cabernet Sauvignon shows remarkable depth and complexity. Black cherries, black currant, cocoa, and graphite waft from the glass. Generous blackberry and black cherry flavors dominate the palate, with notes of dark chocolate and subtle spice. This wine is layered and nuanced with balanced acidity and fine-grained tannins.

This Pinot Noir opens with aromas of spiced black cherry cola, dark plum, and black pepper. On the palate, it has great concentration, bold tannin, and prominent oak tones of toasted vanilla, marzipan, and bourbon. This bold Pinot Noir will continue to evolve with proper cellaring and should be decanted in its youth. Enjoy served alongside a peppered steak for the ultimate indulgent feast.

Our 2022 Malbec-Petit Verdot opens with a lovely bouquet of leather, blueberry, cedar, tobacco, violet, and sage. The palate entry is soft initially, developing layers of intricacy with hazelnut, vanilla, and mocha. Enjoy now or cellar for the next 10+ years.

This Chairman Series wine is made from our best Cabernet Sauvignon block on the estate. It is a bold wine with layers of graphite, blueberry compote, and cassis fruit on the nose. The elegant tannin structure is complemented by abundant plum and blueberry flavors, with a complex finish consisting of espresso and black olive. This wine pairs well with prime or short rib, roast beef, venison or pasta dishes with dark meat-based sauces.

Decadent aromas of dark fruit, cedar, raspberry, clove, blueberry, and vanilla lead to a dense and refined palate. Flavors mimic the enticing aromas, adding dark chocolate and black currant with silky tannins leading to a long, juicy finish. Decant in its youth or allow it to evolve in bottle for the next 10+ years.

The Chairman Series Lineage is a bold and distinguished red wine. On the nose, rich cassis with hints of fennel and black currant intermingle to create a mouthwatering aroma. On the palate, this wine is robust, with layers of blue and black fruit supported by well-structured tannin and notes of graphite. We recommend decanting for 30-60 minutes before serving to allow the deeply complex fruit characters to evolve. Lineage’s great texture makes it a perfect pairing with rib eye, New York steak, filet mignon, short ribs, or venison…or a holiday feast.
