The 2022 vintage was another warm and fast-paced year. Warm temperatures continued into summer setting the stage for full ripening, fresh acidity and beautifully balanced fruit. Our 2022 Estate Chardonnay is creamy, rich and elegant with complex aromas and flavors of baked bread, pear, hazelnut, and toasted marshmallow. This is an age-worthy wine of exceptional quality known for its full mouthfeel and exquisite long finish.

Vibrant, bright and aromatic with notes of tropical fruit, green apple and citrus complemented by marzipan and honeysuckle. The wine is persistent on the palate and creamy on the finish. Hints of toast round out this beautiful, balanced wine.

This wine opens with sultry aromas of dark plum and crème de cassis with a hint of lavender. The palate is plush and structured with layers of dark fruit, nicely integrated oak and rich, velvety tannins. Our 2021 Wright Creek Chardonnay presents rich aromas and flavors of baked pear, apple, and Meyer lemon. A full, and luxurious texture fills the palate with a creamy structure leading to a mineral finish.

The nose is rich with aromas of dark plum, tobacco and black pepper. The palate is deep and concentrated with flavors of black cherry, dark stone fruit, dried sage and a subtle earthiness.

Upon opening, dark fruit aromas of black cherry and blueberry are intertwined with notes of forest floor and vanilla spice. Deep, layered flavors of blackberry, dark chocolate, and black tea are present on the palate. Soft tannins and a hints of mocha linger on the finish.

The 2017 Cherryblock is a wine of great complexity, intricacy and sophistication. In the glass, the wine is deep purple with ruby highlights, and others intense, concentrated aromas of blackberry, vanilla and baking spices. Waves of rich black fruit wash over the palate, with complex layers of cedar and tobacco. The finish is framed by full soft tannins and lingering notes of herbs and spice.

Deep ruby in the glass, our 2016 Handmade Rutherford Cabernet Sauvignon opens with aromas of vanilla, tobacco, black currant and anise which leads to an exceptionally soft wine across the palate. Complex flavors of dark cherry and blackberry are complemented by hints of cocoa, graphite and savory herbs. This wine is structured with firm but smooth tannins that lead to a satisfyingly long finish.

The 2019 vintage opens with terroir-driven aromatics of crème de cassis, black cherry, baked plum and all-spice. These aromas carry through to a palate that is well structured and full-bodied, with youthful yet firm tannins. A long echoing finish provides additional notes of dark fruit, earth and toasted oak. The 2018 Winemaker Series Brut Sparkling is a beautiful representation of our Russian River Valley vineyards. This sparkling opens with aromas of brioche and apple pie, leading to flavors of toasted almond, notes of oyster shell and lemon pith to round out the palate. Fine bubbles and flow from the start through the creamy finish.

Founder’s Block is known for producing wines of exceptional character. The 2022 is a delight for the senses with enticing aromas of nectarine, baking spice, ginger, and white flower. The richness of this wine is beautifully balanced with subtle minerality and bright acidity supporting layers of stone fruit and baked apple flavors. Serve lightly chilled with smoked salmon with lemon aioli and toasted brioche, fresh peach salad with baby greens, goat cheese and pistachios, or a garden pizza with basil pesto.

Complex, velvety and bold, the 2016 Cherryblock delivers a great deal of intricacy and sophistication. The wine fills the glass with deep purple and ruby highlights, followed by intense, concentrated aromas of blackberry, vanilla and baking spices. The tannins from this vintage were more intense than usual due to the smaller crop size, leading us to blend in a little more Merlot than is typical. The finish is framed by full soft tannins and lingering notes of herbs and spice.

Full-bodied, with velvety tannins and the signature Stags Leap District mineral notes that are well-knit with the fruit and oak, leading to a long and bright finish.
