2017 Silverado Vineyards Abel Cabernet Sauvignon, Stags Leap District

This memorable single-vineyard wine was named for a California gold miner, saloonkeeper, and pioneering winegrower. Warm sun reflected from the region’s dramatic palisades brings Cabernet Sauvignon grapes to perfect ripeness for aromas and flavors of cherry, pomegranate, and plum with hints of vanilla, cola, and clove.

2016 Silverado Vineyards GEO Cabernet Sauvignon, Coombsville

Grapes for the 2016 GEO Cabernet Sauvignon come from warm estate vineyards in Coombsville in the southeastern reaches of Napa Valley. Aromas of sweet fruit and hints of clove give way to flavors of muddled black cherry, anise, and stone fruit, supported by firm tannins.

This wine comes from warm vineyards in the southernmost Napa Valley appellation and displays rich, concentrated, well-knit layers of black cherry liquor, cocoa, nutmeg, toasted oak, and tea leaves. Dense tannins and vivid acidity provide balance and structure to this full-bodied Cabernet.

2017 Kuleto Estate Lone Acre Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa Valley

This rich, dark Cabernet Sauvignon displays aromas of black cherry, vanilla and a hint of black pepper. The palate offers surprisingly bright acidity with soft tannins and flavors of blackberry, ripe cherry, dried sage, and cloves that linger over a smooth finish.

This wine opens with a delightful bouquet of citrus, lemon and lime zest, green and red apple, and lemon blossom. The palate offers racy acidity balanced by bright stone fruit and zesty citrus notes.

Aromas and flavors of crisp yellow apple, white nectarine, apricot, underripe pineapple and a hint of graham cracker. Balanced acidity and a creamy mouthfeel are followed by a clean, minerally finish.

Intensely dark and inky with pronounced aromas of crushed raspberry, blueberry, and blackberry. Flavors of blackberry streusel and dried herbs such as fennel and bay leaf. This full-bodied wine has structured acidity, round tannins, and a long finish.

Sweet and savory aromatics suggest fresh raspberry, thyme and a hint of meatiness. The tannin, acidity and flavors are nicely knit. Savory herbs and sweet berries are met with a clean mineral finish.

Robust aromas and flavors of boysenberry, huckleberry, blackberry and pecan pie. Accents of violets, roses and sweet baking spices. Tannins are well integrated, resulting in a well-balanced wine.

This blend is fruit-forward and easy drinking with aromas of stewed dark fruits, root beer, cinnamon, and dried herbs. The wine has a smooth texture with powdery tannins, and juicy acidity, and flavors of ripe raspberry, sweet plum, red licorice, baking spice, and cocoa on the finish.

Pronounced aromas of sour cherry and pomegranate and fresh red cherry flavors that coat the palate with a richness unique to Stags Leap District fruit. Accents of red plum, juicy pomegranate, and rose petals meld with sweet oak notes of clove and cocoa. Herbal nuances enhance the freshness. Medium-full bodied with lively energy and smooth tannins.

Aromas of dark cocoa, ripe raspberry, and flint/mineral notes open up to sweet ripe plum, black cherry, and an oak expression of lightly toasted brioche. Full-bodied, exuberant plum and red cherry fruit flavors without a hint of the irrational. Cocoa and a hint of anise join the fruit in an elegant balance along with the oak, acid, and tannin. Supremely focused, but generous with a long finish.

Aromas of crushed wild blueberries and vanilla, boysenberry, and herbal nuances of tobacco and bay leaf. Full-bodied with a focused core of fresh berries and tart cherries intertwined with rich dark cherry liquor flavors. Finely textured powdery tannins and the signature Stags Leap District graphite and mineral notes are well-knit with the fruit and lightly toasted oak, with hints of black pepper and cedar on the finish.
