This Chairman Series wine is made from our best Cabernet Sauvignon block on the estate. It is a bold wine with layers of roasted spiced plum flavors and hints of cocoa, vanilla, and toasty oak on the nose. The lush tannin structure is complemented by smooth acidity that persists long after each indulgent sip. This wine pairs well with prime or short rib, roast beef, venison or pasta dishes with dark meat-based sauces.

Concentrated layers of black cherry, cocoa, and nutmeg fill the nose upon first pour. The palate is balanced with dense tannins and acidity to provide structure to this full-bodied Cabernet.

Upon swirling the glass, you’ll notice aromas of cassis, black olive, and dried oregano. On the palate, smooth tannins with well-integrated oak provide the backbone for bold flavors of black currant, dried sweet tobacco, graphite, accents of cedar, and ribbons of caramel and espresso. Decant and enjoy with steak frites.

Intense aromas of dark cherry and stone fruits. Full-bodied with great structure and balance. Perfectly ripe cherry and plum flavors and hints of apricot and toasted oak lead to a long finish.

This Cabernet Sauvignon opens with vivid aromas of boysenberry and blackberry jam. The appealing fruit aromas are enhanced with brown spice notes of clove and nutmeg. The nose leads to a plush, well-structured wine with a bright fruit core and warm vanilla spice. The rich and flavorful palate has smooth tannins and a lingering finish.

Our 2020 Red Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon displays layers of dense black fruit. Dark fruit flavors with a touch of sage lead to lingering flavors of dried cherries, black berries and a lip-smacking nish. Truly a terroir driven wine with dusty, red tannins, this beast is big and brawny, yet beautifully balanced.

Aromas of crushed wild blueberries and vanilla, boysenberry, and herbal nuances of tobacco and bay leaf. Full-bodied with a focused core of fresh berries and tart cherries intertwined with rich dark cherry liquor flavors. Finely textured powdery tannins and the signature Stags Leap District graphite and mineral notes are well-knit with the fruit and lightly toasted oak, with hints of black pepper and cedar on the finish.

Our 2018 Gravel Bed Cabernet Sauvignon is a beautiful representation of Sonoma County Cab. Aromas of clove, leather, tobacco and cassis lead to savory tapanade and red fruit flavors on the palate, finishing with bright oak.

The 2019 vintage opens with terroir-driven aromatics of crème de cassis, black cherry, baked plum and all-spice. These aromas carry through to a palate that is well structured and full-bodied, with youthful yet firm tannins. A long echoing finish provides additional notes of dark fruit, earth and toasted oak. Our 2021 Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon offers aromas of toasted graham cracker, plum jam, butterscotch, and nutmeg. The wine has a fruit-forward entry, followed by dark berry cobbler and molasses, with well-balanced tannin and lifting acidity flowing through the long finish.

The 2018 Old Vine Cabernet Sauvignon offers aromas of sassparilla, black pepper and new leather. On the palate, concentrated black cherry, savory Mushu plum and rich molasses lead to vanilla flowing through the decadent finish.

The 2021 Walla Walla Valley Cabernet Sauvignon displays dense aromas of ripe raspberry with hints of dried rose petals. Dark red fruit and flavors of rich cocoa powder give this wine a robust mouthfeel. Truly a terroir-driven wine with soft and silky tannins, it pairs beautifully with beef tenderloin.

Only produced in exceptional vintages, this incredible blend for our 2021 vintage was selected from the best barrels form our top Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec and Petit Verdot blocks. The 2021 introduces rich notes of cigar box, dark fruit, black cherry, black currant, leather, and tea. This blend expresses smooth, velvety tannins with rich layers of complexity. It is a deep, intense, powerfully built wine that captures the heart and soul of our stunning estate. I am proud to give this wine my name.

A well structured and full bodied Cabernet Sauvignon with inviting aromas of huckleberry, cedar, black pepper and a hint of dried sage. The 2017 vintage displays aromas of black cherry, vanilla and a hint of black pepper. The palate offers surprisingly bright acidity with soft tannins and flavors of blackberry, ripe cherry, dried sage and cloves. The color is like reddish black tar. The leading aroma is dominated by melted black and red licorice candy smells followed up by super-ripe or sunbaked blackberries. The oak contributes a vanilla extract headiness to the fruit and spice.

Our Rutherford Cabernet Sauvignon is a wonderful expression of the classic Bordeaux varietal. The nose exhibits aromas of blackberry, raspberry, caramelized sugar, barrel spice and a hint of tobacco leaf. These aromas carry through to the palate, with additional notes of dusty cocoa, vanilla, and dried sage. Firm yet smooth tannins are present on the lingering finish.

Rich, concentrated, and well-knit layers of black cherry liquor, cocoa, nutmeg, toasted oak, and tea leaves. Dense tannins and great acidity provide balance and structure to this full-bodied Cabernet for the ages.

On the nose, our 2019 Old Vine Cabernet Sauvignon opens with enticing aromas of blackstrap molasses, mint, cinnamon, blueberries and espresso. These notes carry through to the palate with additional flavors of white cherry and green plum. Bright acidity and youthful tannins give this wine ample aging potential.

Pronounced aromas of sour cherry and pomegranate and fresh red cherry flavors that coat the palate with a richness unique to Stags Leap District fruit. Accents of red plum, juicy pomegranate, and rose petals meld with sweet oak notes of clove and cocoa. Herbal nuances enhance the freshness. Medium-full bodied with lively energy and smooth tannins.

The Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon has a bright and inviting nose with loads of fresh berry aromas: boysenberry, blackberry and baking spice notes. The nose leads to a plush, juicy, full mouthfeel filled with fresh berry jam and dark chocolate flavors. The wine is well-structured with a dense core of fruit and smooth tannins. The balanced acidity gives the wine a long, flavorful finish.

Pronounced aromas of ripe red and black cherries and rose petals. A burst of sweet red cherries, pomegranate and plum greet the palate. Hints of vanilla, cola and clove. Striking energy, smooth and refined tannins, and a long cherry finish.

This wine offers the classic Chateau St. Jean signature: big fruit intensity. Vivid aromas of blackberries, fresh plum and chocolate follow through to rich flavors of black cherries, fresh berry pie and notes of black tea. Well structured with a juicy mouthfeel and a full, lingering finish.

The 2017 Cherryblock is a wine of great complexity, intricacy and sophistication. In the glass, the wine is deep purple with ruby highlights, and others intense, concentrated aromas of blackberry, vanilla and baking spices. Waves of rich black fruit wash over the palate, with complex layers of cedar and tobacco. The finish is framed by full soft tannins and lingering notes of herbs and spice.
