On the nose, our 2021 Old Vine Cabernet Sauvignon opens with enticing aromas of blackstrap molasses, mint, cinnamon, blueberries and espresso. The 2017 Estate Cabernet Sauvignon exudes a combination of robust red and black fruits, and sweet high-toned herbs in the nose. The oak treatment supports but doesn’t overwhelm the flavors and provides a nice lengthy backbone throughout. It has a juiciness that is consistent with the fruit flavors and tremendous focus. Our 2021 Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon is an elegant expression of the very best of the varietal grown on our Alexander Valley estate. A light perfume of lavender flowers leads to a bold yet refined palate. Robust tannins and flavors of black currant and dark chocolate fill the mouth, concluding with a soft, lingering finish.

The Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon has a bright and inviting nose with loads of fresh berry aromas: boysenberry, blackberry and baking spice notes. The nose leads to a plush, juicy, full mouthfeel filled with fresh berry jam and dark chocolate flavors. The wine is well-structured with a dense core of fruit and smooth tannins. The balanced acidity gives the wine a long, flavorful finish.

Named for late winemaker Patrick (Pat) Foley, this wine was crafted to embody his bold character, fun-loving personality and relentless spirit. Upon opening, aromas of toasty oak, cinnamon, vanilla, plum and cherry waft from the glass. The robust mouthfeel maintains intrigue as flavors of spicy white pepper, plum, and cocoa powder flow across the palate. Medium tannins and a long finish make this wine an ideal pairing with a hamburger, pizza, or meatloaf and will continue to evolve with proper cellaring for 10 to 15 years.

Upon swirling the glass, you’ll notice aromas of cassis, black olive, and dried oregano. On the palate, smooth tannins with well-integrated oak provide the backbone for bold flavors of black currant, dried sweet tobacco, graphite, accents of cedar, and ribbons of caramel and espresso. This Chairman Series wine is made from our best Cabernet Sauvignon block on the estate. It is a bold wine with layers of roasted spiced plum flavors and hints of cocoa, vanilla, and toasty oak on the nose. The lush tannin structure is complemented by smooth acidity that persists long after each indulgent sip. This wine pairs well with prime or short rib, roast beef, venison or pasta dishes with dark meat-based sauces.

Our 2021 Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon opens with aromas of cherry liqueur, plum, strawberry compote and fresh leather. The palate offers cherry kirsch, strawberry preserve, and soft tannins with balanced acidity. The finish is long and elegant with notes of warm spice and carob.

The nose is rich with aromas of dark plum, tobacco and black pepper. The palate is deep and concentrated with flavors of black cherry, dark stone fruit, dried sage and a subtle earthiness.

The 2019 vintage of Lone Acre Cabernet Sauvignon showcases aromas of plum, cedar, and black pepper. The rich and weighty palate possesses notes of black cherry, spice, and coffee that lead to a long and smooth finish.

The 2021 GEO is a strong tribute to its reputation. Brambly aromas with spice, blackberry, dark fruit, and rich toffee lead to a robust mouthfeel. Rich layers of black and blue fruits coupled with coffee, licorice, and cola linger long after the last sip.

This wine opens with leather, cedar, plum jam, molasses, and mocha on the nose. The palate is juicy upfront with warm marionberry syrup and full, velvety tannins. Notes of butterscotch linger on the long, decadent finish.

Our 2021 Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon offers aromas of toasted graham cracker, plum jam, butterscotch, and nutmeg. The wine has a fruit-forward entry, followed by dark berry cobbler and molasses, with well-balanced tannin and lifting acidity flowing through the long finish.

Our 2018 Gravel Bed Cabernet Sauvignon is a beautiful representation of Sonoma County Cab. Aromas of clove, leather, tobacco and cassis lead to savory tapanade and red fruit flavors on the palate, finishing with bright oak.

Upon opening, deep aromas of dark plum, black pepper, tobacco and clove fill the nose. The palate mirrors the aromas with additional notes of black cherry, leather and savory dried herbs. A soft mouthfeel and smooth, refined tannins linger on the lush finish.

A well structured and full bodied Cabernet Sauvignon with inviting aromas of huckleberry, cedar, black pepper and a hint of dried sage. On the palate, bold tannins are balanced with flavors of black currant and dark cherry with savory notes of tobacco and graphite. While approachable now, it will age beautifully over the next 5-10 years.

The 2019 vintage opens with terroir-driven aromatics of crème de cassis, black cherry, baked plum and all-spice. These aromas carry through to a palate that is well structured and full-bodied, with youthful yet firm tannins. A long echoing finish provides additional notes of dark fruit, earth and toasted oak. This Cabernet Sauvignon opens with vivid aromas of boysenberry and blackberry jam. The appealing fruit aromas are enhanced with brown spice notes of clove and nutmeg. The nose leads to a plush, well-structured wine with a bright fruit core and warm vanilla spice. The rich and flavorful palate has smooth tannins and a lingering finish.

Deep in color, it reveals a complex nose of black currant, plum, anise and violet. Refined and polished tannins provide amazing structure and depth that complement commanding flavors of dark plum, black currant, blackberry, savory leather and dark chocolate. An incredible display of the rich and concentrated flavors that come from our estate vineyards, this wine glides across the palate for a long, decadent finish. This wine should be decanted when young, and will only gain in complexity for the next 15-20 years.

PreVail Back Forty entices with a delicious array of intense aromas and flavors including toffee, currants, leather, hints of nutmeg spice, caramel, vanilla, ripe plum, and toasty oak notes. This full-bodied wine has a long, rich finish and smooth, yet structured tannins. 

The 2018 Merus is a dark and powerful wine. Aromas of cassis and blackberry fill the nose, with undertones of vanilla bean, cedar and graphite. A full body and plush velvety tannins fill the mouth with deep flavors of saturated black fruits. Hints of vanilla and a fine grain oak texture from the 100% new French oak aging linger on the finish. Decant for one hour for maximum enjoyment.

Our Sonoma County Cabernet Sauvignon is deep, purple-ruby in color with aromas of baked plum pie, dried black currant, lavender and violets with hints of cedar of anise. A juicy entry on the mouth delivers plush, fine tannins with a velvety texture.This approachable, medium-bodied cabernet has full, yet silky flavors of plum, berries, vanilla and graham cracker.. A finale of round tannins leads to a dry, smooth finish. It plays nicely with California grass fed beef burgers, balsamic lamb shank or grilled beef short ribs.

The 2017 Cherryblock is a wine of great complexity, intricacy and sophistication. In the glass, the wine is deep purple with ruby highlights, and others intense, concentrated aromas of blackberry, vanilla and baking spices. Waves of rich black fruit wash over the palate, with complex layers of cedar and tobacco. The finish is framed by full soft tannins and lingering notes of herbs and spice.

Wine lots and barrels selected for our ‘El Coyote’ Cabernet Sauvignon don’t necessarily come from a particular spot on the estate ( à la Vineyard Designate), but rather share common flavor and structural attributes that highlight the dark, meaty, rich, black fruit aspects of the variety. To further highlight these characters, we often co-ferment with varieties that share these same qualities.

Our Rutherford Cabernet Sauvignon is a wonderful expression of the classic Bordeaux varietal. The nose exhibits aromas of blackberry, raspberry, caramelized sugar, barrel spice and a hint of tobacco leaf. These aromas carry through to the palate, with additional notes of dusty cocoa, vanilla, and dried sage. Firm yet smooth tannins are present on the lingering finish.

The nose offers layers of complex aromas including black currant, chocolate covered Bing cherry, wild mountain blackberry fruit, cassis and a soft sweet earth note. Nuanced notes of spicy jasmine and crushed rock are intriguing and add depth to the nose. The aromas lead to a plush palate with rich flavors of boysenberry, dark chocolate and black tea. The full-bodied wine is refined with well-integrated, ripe tannins offering good structure. In signature Cinq Cépages form, this wine combines the strength of the diverse Sonoma County region to create a well-balanced and elegant wine.

This wine is rich and intense with aromas of dried blueberry, leather, spiced dark chocolate, and vanilla. On the palate, dominant boysenberry jam flavors are accented by notes of cedar and a hint of barrel toast on the decadent finish.
