2020 Acrobat Chardonnay, Oregon
Wine Enthusiast 90pts
Fields of exuberant yellow straw come to mind when describing this chardonnay’s color. On the nose, a bouquet of notes ranging from ripe peach and key lime, to apple blossom and apricot, shine through. A clean and refined entrance gives way to layers of lime, stone fruit, and crème brûlée on the mid-palate. The medium-long finish is fresh and held together by lively acidity.

Vineyard Notes
The winter of 2019 and 2020 was relatively mild and dry, which brought a cool spring with few frost events. We experienced rain during flowering, and this resulted in smaller berries and low crop yields. A warm summer was leading up to a small, but promising harvest. Due to high winds on Labor Day and wildfires across Oregon, this made for a very challenging harvest. The chardonnay for this wine was harvested at two periods during harvest: early and late. In the blend, the early harvest component provides a wine with freshness and acidity, while the later harvest is characterized by richness, and tropical fruit aromatics.
