2019 Three Rivers Artz Vineyard Semillon/Sauvignon Blanc Blend, Red Mountain
The Semillon and sur lie aging has added weight
to the mid-palate which gives the wine beautiful depth while remaining zesty, clean and crisp.

Production Notes
We had a snowy start to the 2019 growing season and a wet spring without much frost pressure. The weather improved in June and continued with a nice, warm summer. We picked the Semillon on
September 11th and the Sauvignon Blanc on September 16th. We were able to skirt some large rain events in September and ended up with
some beautifully expressive fruit.
Vineyard Notes
Artz Vineyard is named for Fred Artz, a legendary grape grower on Red Mountain. Artz helped plant and manage the famed Klipsun Vineyard for more than 20 years before buying adjacent land and planting his vineyard. The vineyard is planted on the lower bench of Red Mountain, overlooking the Yakima River at an elevation of 652’ facing southwest. The predominant soil types of Red Mountain are Warden, Hezel and Scootenay which are a series of wind-blown loess. This variety of soil presents a combination of sand, silt and loam which are exceptional for growing grapes. Artz Vineyard is now owned by the Red Mountain pioneers, the Willams family.
