An expressive bouquet of raspberry, Bing cherry and forest floor come to life on the nose. Bright and balanced, with focused flavors of red cherry, black pepper and background hints of light roast coffee.

The 2019 Valleyview is a blend of small lots of our finest Pinot Noir which best represent the the vintage. This wine reflects the elegance, intriguing aromatics, and silky texture of Pinot Noir grown in the Willamette Valley. The Foley Estate in the Dundee Hills is one of our earliest ripening sites, and tends to produce elegant and expressive Pinot Noir. Our Doe Ridge fruit from the Yamhill-Carlton AVA contributes structure, dark fruit, and violet aromatics to the blend. On the nose, bright red berry aromatics are complemented by hints of violet and cocoa. The palate delivers a silky texture with layers of black cherries, red currants and hints of baking spice. This wine has fine, polished tannins and a long, velvety smooth finish.

Winemaker Notes

Established in 2003, The Four Graces is committed to making rich, complex wines where the fruit may be elegantly expressed. Our Valleyview Pinot Noir is one of four wines in our Graces tier and is our featured Icon vineyard blend. “Valleyview” marries the best and finest elements from our estate vineyards into an iconic blend that represents the best of the vintage, our winemaking style and the essence of the greater Willamette Valley AVA. Each “Grace” in this series highlights the climate, land and fruit characteristics of our individual estate vineyards.—Tim Jones, Winemaker

Production Notes

The Willamette Valley region experienced a mild winter and early spring for 2019. Our vineyards had a few frost events during bud break in April, but damage to the vines was minimal. The growing season was marked by a combination of warm weather and heavy precipitation in late June and early July. Steady rains in September and cool weather in October resulted in fruit hanging longer on the vine and made it more difficult to determine when to pick. This iconic blend of our estate vineyards represents the depth, range and uniqueness of the fruit grown throughout the Willamette Valley.

Vineyard Notes

The fruit for our Valleyview Pinot Noir is sourced from two or our estate vineyards: Doe Ridge Estate (Blocks 16 & 18) in the Yamhill-Carlton AVA and Foley Family Estate in the Dundee Hills AVA (Blocks 2 & 9). We execute sustainable winemaking practices on our LIVE certified estate vineyards. The Foley Family Estate Vineyard encompasses 110 acres nestled in the Red Hills of Dundee. The Doe Ridge Estate, purchased and developed in 2005, is a 90-acre site and considered one of the most innovative new vineyards in the Willamette Valley.
