2019 The Four Graces Reserve Pinot Noir, Dundee Hills
91 Points - James Suckling
Winemaker Notes
Our 2019 Dundee Hills Reserve Pinot Noir displays a dark ruby color. Nuanced aromas
of violets, rhubarb, moist earth and graham cracker crust set the tone. Juicy wild strawberry coat the palate with notes of cocoa and black tea highlighted in the background.
The use of new French oak barrels in this wine supports the fruit and adds a touch of
baking spice aroma where the contribution of older French oak barrels allows the tannins
to develop gracefully over time. The finish is silky and long, which is a characteristic of Dundee Hills Pinot Noir.

Production Notes
The Dundee Hills appellation in Willamette Valley experienced a mild winter and early spring. Our vineyards had a few frost events during bud break in April, but damage to the vines was minimal. The growing season was marked by a combination of warm weather and heavy precipitation in late June and early July. Steady rains in September and cool weather in October resulted in fruit hanging longer on the vine and made it more difficult to determine when to pick. 2019 was a challenging harvest, however the
resulting wines deliver a surprising freshness and acidity from a cooler vintage.
Vineyard Notes
The Dundee Hills Reserve Pinot Noir is the result of ongoing observation in the vineyard to select the best fruit from specific rows and blocks. The Foley Family Estate Vineyard which produces this wine boasts the jory soils well known for their iron-rich, fertile characteristics.
