2019 The Four Graces Chardonnay, Willamette Valley
Available Starting November 8
The 2019 Willamette Valley Chardonnay is a fantastic wine with beautiful, bright aromas of apricot, lemon peel and delicate floral hints. The palate has a lively entry full of white peach and apple that transition into a creamy mid-palate with a touch of vanilla. The finish is soft with a lingering minerality.
15 months in French oak
The Willamette Valley experienced a mild winter and early spring. Our vineyards had a few frost events during bud break in April, but damage to the vines was minimal. The growing season was marked by a combination of warm weather and heavy precipitation in late June and early July. Steady rains in September and cool weather in October resulted in fruit hanging longer on the vine and made it more difficult to determine when to pick. 2019 was a challenging harvest, however the resulting wines deliver a surprising freshness and acidity from a cooler vintage. This chardonnay was all hand-picked Clone 76, harvested in early October.
The grapes for The Four Graces Chardonnay are sourced from the Eola-Amity AVA within the Willamette Valley. The vineyards in this appellation display different soil types with a variety of elevations that bring unique characteristics to our wines.
