Production Notes
The vineyards of Foley Sonoma lie at the heart of our estate in the Alexander Valley. Patty’s Patch Zinfandel hails from our estate, head-pruned Zinfandel vines that were planted in 2000. Following
harvest, the grapes were fermented in stainless steel tanks and then racked to French and American oak barrels.
Vineyard Notes
The 2019 harvest was one of quality and quantity. Sonoma County experienced ideal weather the whole season, allowing our white grapes to ripen at a steady pace and develop full and dynamic flavors. We had a brief break between picking whites and reds with three days of rain that slowed down the sugar levels and gave us time to organize before bringing in the reds. Shortly after those three days the summer heat returned, prompting a brisk finish to the picking season. Ultimately, 2019 yields came in 15%-20% greater than we have seen in the past eight years and the quality is superb across the board.
