2019 Chalk Hill Estate Zinfandel, Chalk Hill AVA
Dense aromas of ripe raspberry, mulberry, and cherry allure the senses as this 2019 Zinfandel opens in the glass. The mouthwatering palate is silky with bright acidity and flavors of fresh berries, plum, and peppery spice. This Zinfandel finishes long and smooth with sweet tannins and spice.
This is the seventh vintage of our Russian River Valley Zinfandel, made exclusively for our wine club and tasting room. The grapes come from our Trenton Road vineyard, in the heart of the Russian River Valley. Primarily planted with Pinot Noir, there is one small block on a west-facing hillside that is tailor-made for Zinfandel, the Lions Ridge West Block.

The 2019 harvest started 1-2 weeks later than usual. A wet winter and spring followed by persistent cool temperatures extended the growing season allowing the grapes to mature gradually. Vintners from around the state are praising the full flavors, fresh acidity, and superb balance of this year’s crop.
