2018 The Four Graces Courtney's Reserve Pinot Noir, Yamhill-Carlton
This 2017 Doe Ridge Estate Pinot Noir is a vibrant ruby color. On the nose, earthy aromas of river rock and wild mushrooms are complemented by a touch of dried cherry, blackberry and forest floor. The palate delivers a smooth texture and layers of black tea, white pepper and mushrooms. With a full structure and long finish this wine pairs well with pork loin or seared duck.
Doe Ridge Estate 100% Pinot Noir; Clones 777, 667 and 115
The 2018 vintage started with a relatively mild spring with average rainfall. The most remarkable aspect of the growing season was the long and dry summer, one of the driest summers on record in the Willamette Valley. Fortunately, although we were drier than normal, daytime temperatures weren’t excessive and our vines in the Yamhill-Carlton AVA tolerate drought stress well. As we entered the fall season and time to harvest, the dry conditions continued and we were able to pick our pinot noir exactly when we wanted on the first day of October.
