2018 Sebastiani Sémillon, Alexander Valley
This 2018 Semillon is light straw in color and offers beautiful aromatic notes of melon, green apple, and lemon. Bright flavors of pear and citrus fruits follow with a wonderfully rich and smooth mouth-feel. The finish is crisp and clean with a touch of river rock minerality. This is the perfect wine to accompany seafood or drink alone on a warm afternoon. - David Nakaji, Winemaker

100% Stainless Steel
The 2018 growing season was one of the mildest and smoothest in recent memory. Mild spring weather led to good fruit set in most varietals and moderate weather throughout the year made for ideal growing conditions. There were no major heat spikes, which gave us longer hang-time and great ripening on the vine. While a fairly long harvest, the 2018 crop delivered fruit with complex flavors and was of excellent quality. The fruit for this Semillon was harvested at night to ensure cold fruit at the time of pressing. Harvesting took place on September 20, 2018. To maintain freshness and preserve the distinct characteristics of the varietal, we minimized exposure to the air. The grapes were fermented in stainless steel tanks to promote a fresh, crisp style and let the fruit shine.
Alexander Valley is located north of the town of Healdsburg in Sonoma County. It is one of the warmer AVAs in the region, making it the perfect spot for Bordeaux grapes. This Semillon comes from the Lyon Vineyard which features well drained, alluvial soils near the Russian River in the northern Alexander Valley. This adds concentration and distinct notes of minerality.
