2018 Sebastiani Patrick’s Vineyard Chardonnay, Carneros
Aromas of pear and baked apples with an undercurrent of baking spices. On the palate it is rich in flavor with a touch of sweetness from the fine French oak. Full bodied with a nice acid backbone and a lingering finish of hazelnut and ripe apricots. Our richest and most unctuous style from this vineyard.
16 months in French oak, 100% new
The 2018 growing season was one of the mildest and smoothest in recent memory. Mild spring weather led to good fruit set in most varietals and moderate weather throughout the year made for ideal growing conditions.
Patrick’s Vineyard is named after owner Bill Foley’s son. It is an exposed, rolling site in lower Carneros, close to San Pablo Bay. The cool, foggy, windy climate and marine soils at Patrick’s are ideal for full-bodied, well-structured Chardonnay.
