2018 Firestone Vineyard Reserve Chardonnay, Santa Ynez Valley
Our Reserve Chardonnay comes from our oldest Chardonnay vines on the property. High stress on this vineyard block causes low yields and small clusters that are packed with dense flavors. This chardonnay expresses aromas of crisp apple and pear with hints of citrus blossom. Its bright acidity melds together with notes of freshly buttered toast for a refined, yet refreshing finish.

The 2018 vintage was mild overall with low rainfall totals and only a single notable heat streak in early September. The mellow weather allowed us to pick each block at the optimal time.
The Santa Ynez Valley is located just two hours north of Los Angeles and five hours south of San Francisco, adjacent the cold Pacific Ocean. With the greatest concentration of wineries in Santa Barbara County - roughly 18% of its total land planted to vineyards - it is among the favorite weekend destinations for wine aficionados in the Central Coast region. Our Reserve Chardonnay comes from one of our oldest planted vineyards on the estate and is located at the very edge of our mesa.
