2018 Chateau St. Jean Reserve Chardonnay, Sonoma County
To craft the Reserve Chardonnay we select the most standout barrels from our different single vineyard programs. The 2018 vintage combines 31% Durrell, 30% Robert Young, 24% Gaps Crown, and 15% Belle Terre. The wine was aged 18 months in 50% new French oak. This chardonnay has ripe yellow apple and spiced pear characters, with some hazelnut and crème brulée from the oak.

Production Notes
Classic winemaking techniques such as sur lie aging are used in making this wine. Each lot is kept separate throughout the winemaking process and aged in French oak. A barrel selection from each lot is determined in the crafting of the final blend.
