2017 Roth Reserve Pinot Gris, Russian River Valley
Hailing from select vineyards in the Chalk Hill and Russian River Valley, our 2017 Pinot Gris boasts vibrant notes of pineapple and mango on the nose. The palate is well structured without being overwhelming with flavors of lime zest, apricot, honeysuckle, and melon. The finish is round and is complemented by a bright acidity.

Russian River Valley
Our Pinot Gris comes from the acclaimed Russian River Valley AVA of Sonoma County with most of the fruit coming from the Chalk Hill AVA. Known for its cool, foggy climate that sweeps in from the Pacific Ocean and its alluvial soils, this river valley is an idyllic site for growing Pinot Gris. After harvest, the grapes were pressed and transferred to tank where they were fermented with native yeast in neutral French oak for added body and complexity. After four months with regular lees stirring, the wine was bottled. In 2017, ample winter rainfall provided much-needed relief in the Russian River Valley. Consistently sunny days throughout the spring and summer with heat spikes in September resulted in an early harvest. With harvest finishing in early fall, we were unaffected by the October wildfires and the fruit came in with exceptional quality.
