2017 Foley Sonoma Pinot Noir, Russian River Valley
Our 2017 Russian River Pinot Noir is a medium-bodied wine with lively characteristics. On the nose, it provides vibrant aromas of strawberry, cranberry, and cherry cola. On the palate, flavors of red cherry, raspberry, and baking spices are finished with a vibrant natural acidity. It is a great representation of a fruit forward driven wine.

Russian River Valley
14 months in French oak, 25% new
The fruit for this Russian River Valley Pinot Noir came from the Dijon 943 clone block of the Foley Family owned Trenton Station vineyard. This vineyard is a very level growing site with plenty of exposure to bring the fruit to optimum ripeness. After harvest, the grapes were fermented in stainless steel tanks and then racked to French oak barrels. After aging for 14 months in French oak (25% new), the wine was bottled.
Harvest 2017 was an excellent vintage in the Russian River Valley. A relatively cool ripening season in August was followed by a four-day, 115 degree heat spike, which pushed all fruit that was on the fringes of ripeness well into full maturity. Luckily, grape quality was not compromised, and once the fruit arrived, it was fantastic to work with. Although the heat spike was much maligned at the time, all of our fruit, aside from a single block of Cabernet Franc, was in and processed by the time the fires hit at the beginning of October.
