2017 Foley Johnson Estate Rosé, Rutherford
Our 2017 estate Rosé showcases a beautiful combination of varietals that creates a truly unique expression of Napa Valley Rosé. On the nose, elegant notes of focused cranberry and bright cherry emerge. The palate is intense but refined with soft juicy blackberry complemented by fresh cracked white pepper and herbal accents. The mouthfeel is pleasantly robust while a refreshing acidity balances the wine.
Food Pairing Notes
This is a wonderful pairing for a roasted chicken with mushrooms, fennel and root vegetables.

Early September 2017
This Estate Rosé includes fruit from our Estate in Rutherford, Napa Valley. In addition to its historical importance, Rutherford is a premier region for luxury-class wines. Our Sauvignon Blanc is planted to sandy soils along the Napa River and our Merlot is grown on gravelly soils that provide ample drainage. The fruit was harvested in September, 2017 and aged in stainless steel tanks prior to bottling. A small portion of Pinot Noir from our sister winery, Foley Sonoma, was added to the final blend.
The 2017 growing season was fantastic. The hot summer months pushed the fruit to maturity quicker than in previous seasons, but a few weeks of cold weather stalled ripening. We picked the fruit sooner than the rest of the valley generally speaking, and before the wine country fires hit in early September. The fruit entered the winery high in quality and with exceptional profiles.
