2017 Banshee Whistler Vineyard Pinot Noir, Sonoma Coast
This quintessential cool climate pinot noir transports you to a fog laden redwood grove with rich forest aromatics of fresh pine needles and resin. Bright flavors of cranberry and tart cherry are balanced by earthy forest floor, peet and a hint of savory. This big, muscular wine with tightly wound tannins is beautiful now but will only get better with time.
100% Pinot Noir
Founded in 2001 by Drs. Jennifer Whistler and Stig Hansen, Whistler Vineyard is located on the “true” Sonoma Coast just four miles from the Pacific Ocean in the far northwest corner of Sonoma County close to Annapolis. This rugged vineyard sits on a gently sloping ridge-top at 850 feet elevation and has the perfect micro-climate and marine sandy loam soil-type for awesome coastal Pinot Noir.
