A rich, full-bodied wine with notes of lush pineapple fruit, white peach and a touch of sweet lemon that balances the French oak. Flavors of toasted meringue topped with crushed hazelnuts are present through the finish.

94 Points & Editor's Choice - Wine Enthusiast. "Pungent aromas of tight-grained oak meet with almonds, pecans and lemon sorbet on the opulent attention-grabbing nose. Woody flavors of sandalwood and cedar continue to the palate, which is crisp, clean and salty but not unctuous at all, with tangy citrus on the finish."

Winemaker Notes

Our 2015 Reserve Chardonnay is a pleasant golden color with cozy aromas of roasted vanilla bean, white jasmine flower and fresh lemon zest. The palate has a rich minerality and fruit tones with evolving layers of coconut macaroons, toasted graham, lemon curd and sweet clover honey. Lean yet oaky notes linger on the finish.

Food Pairing Notes

Pair this beauty with a mushroom ravioli drizzled with olive oil and toasted pine nuts.

Production Notes

This Reserve Chardonnay was hand harvested in the cool morning hours from August 19 – October 1, 2015 to preserve flavor and aromatics. The 2015 features some of our favorite clones: the Wente and Mt. Eden. The juice was barrel fermented and aged for 16 months in 100% new French oak barrels. To add richness and complexity to the wine, we stirred the lees every two weeks. It was then bottled in April of 2017.

Vineyard Notes

The 2015 vintage was early, light and exceptionally high in quality. The vines experienced no hard dormancy and above average temperatures in February which resulted in an early bud break. The drought patterns from previous years and throughout the season yielded fruit with smaller berry and cluster size. This ultimately translated into intense flavor concentration producing wines that are rich, complex, and powerful in character.
