2016 Roth Reserve Trenton Vineyard Pinot Noir, Russian River Valley
Available Starting Apr 29
Our 2016 Trenton Road Vineyard Pinot Noir hails from the Russian River Valley. With its gravelly, well-drained soil and cooling, Pacific climate, this region is ideal for growing Pinot Noir. An enticing bouquet of red cherry, raspberry and cassis lead into a rich palate of red fruits, forest floor and bergamot tea. The bright acidity and firm tannins complement the flavors on its long finish.

Russian River Valley
Completed by mid September
Aged 17 months in French and Hungarian oak, 50% new
The Trenton Road Vineyard is situated in the center of the acclaimed Russian River Valley AVA of Sonoma County. With 48 acres planted to vine, it is surrounded by beautiful redwood groves, sloping hillsides, and the nearby Russian River. Known for its cool, foggy climate that sweeps in from the Pacific Ocean and alluvial soils, it is an idyllic site for growing Pinot Noir. After harvest, the grapes were fermented in stainless steel tanks with native yeast and then racked to French and Hungarian oak barrels. After 17 months in French and Hungarian oak (50% new) with regular lees stirring, the wine was bottled.
The 2016 vintage in Russian River Valley was marked by high quality fruit and an earlier than average harvest. An early start to the growing season was followed by warm temperatures throughout the spring and summer. This resulted in even ripening and balanced flavors with the fruit coming into the winery by mid-September.
