2016 Lincourt Sauvignon Blanc, Santa Ynez Valley
This 2016 Sauvignon Blanc begins with tropical aromatics of guava nectar and lemon fruit. The palate is fresh and bright with kiwi, nectarine and white peach flavors. The lush mouthfeel is nicely wrapped up by a crisp acidity.
Food Pairing Notes
This wine would pair beautifully with oysters on the half shell and is perfect for summertime sipping.
100% Sauvignon Blanc
Santa Ynez Valley
August 26 - October 4, 2016
100% Stainless Steel
All of the fruit was harvested in the Santa Ynez Valley from August 26 to October 4, 2016. The fruit was hand harvested in the early morning hours. After whole cluster pressing, the grapes were fermented at low temperatures to retain aromatics. The wine was fermented and aged in 100% stainless steel tanks with no malolactic to ensure bright flavors and crisp texture.
2016 was an excellent vintage producing moderate yields and highly concentrated fruit. Bud break occurred on February 17, followed by a cooling period which caused a prolonged bloom and set. Overall the vine canopy growth was much stronger than in 2015, as the vines took advantage of increased rainfall in the winter. The grapes came into the winery from August 26 – October 4, showing great balance and bright flavors.
