Our 2016 Lindsay’s Pinot Noir is a fun and fresh bottling capturing aromas of fresh picked red raspberries. Bright red cherry fruit and raspberry dominate the palate with hints of black pepper followed by a silky smooth finish. This is a pure expression of Pinot Noir grown in our beautiful Sta. 100% Pinot Noir
Sta. Rita Hills
August 26 – October 4, 2016
18 months in neutral French oak

This Pinot Noir came from our estate Rancho Santa Rosa vineyard in the Sta. Rita Hills AVA. The fruit was hand-harvested and sorted in the vineyard prior to arrival at the winery. The clusters were then carefully destemmed to keep the berries intact. Additional hand sorting removed any jack stems before the fruit was transferred to stainless steel, open-top fermenters. The juice and skins were cold–soaked for four days prior to fermentation and then gently punched down for several days. After primary fermentation was complete, the new wine was drained and the skins were gently pressed. This Pinot Noir was barrel aged in neutral French oak for 18 months before it was bottled.
All of the fruit was harvested in the Santa Ynez Valley from August 26 to October 4, 2016. The fruit was hand harvested in the early morning hours. After whole cluster pressing, the grapes were fermented at low temperatures to retain aromatics. The wine was fermented and aged in 100% stainless steel tanks with no malolactic to ensure bright flavors and crisp texture.
