Winemaker Notes
Our 2016 Villa Vista Cabernet Sauvignon is bursting with aromas of hawthorn berries, ripe cherry and wild
flowers. This Cabernet is blended with a small portion of Sangiovese and Cabernet Franc, and offers a silky and
sleek mouthfeel, bright acidity and red fruit flavors. Additional savory notes of dried Italian herbs lead to a
pleasing and supple finish.

Production Notes
Vintage 2016 gave us yet another beautiful vintage in the Napa Valley. This following the fabulous vintages of
2012-2015. Marked by a few late-season heat spells, the wines are as opulent as the 2012s, with the concentration
of the 2014s.
Wine lots and barrels selected for our Villa Vista Cabernet Sauvignon don’t necessarily come from a particular
spot on the estate (à la Vineyard Designate), but rather share common flavor and structural attributes that
highlight bright red fruit and a balance of sweet and savory spice aromas. Certain lots are pushed further in the
desired flavor and structural profile by co-fermenting with other varieties.
