2016 Foley Sonoma Sauvignon Blanc, Alexander Valley
True to its Sauvignon Musque make-up, this 2016 Sauvignon Blanc has fragrant stone fruit aromas of white peach and honeyed apricots. The aromas carry through to the palate with flavors of rich fruit and a slight grassiness on the finish.

2016 was a superb vintage in Alexander Valley. Although yields were slightly lower than in 2015, fruit quality was high across all varietals. Veraison set in early and completed by the end of July - beginning of August, and week of warm temperatures pushed harvest up ahead of schedule. All of the fruit entered the crush pad in optimal condition. The grapes for our 2016 Sauvignon Blanc were harvested in the cool morning hours of September 8, 2016.
The vineyards for our Sauvignon Blanc lie in the heart of Alexander Valley. Just down the road from Foley Sonoma, Simi vineyard is planted to rich soils that support the Sauvignon Musque clone used in this wine. After harvest, the fruit was fermented in stainless steel tanks to capture its light, fresh characteristics. An additional 5% of Semillon was blended in to add depth and concentration. After aging in stainless steel, the wine was bottled on February 27, 2017.
