2016 Eos Zinfandel, Paso Robles
This 2016 Reserve Algunas Dias Zinfandel is deep garnet in color. The aroma is filled with ripe strawberry and Bing cherry with a hint of vanilla in the background. These aromas carry through to the palate, where strawberry and cherry mingle with dried fig, bramble and subtle barrel spices. This is a well-balanced Zinfandel with bright acidity and a long finish.
97% Zinfandel, 3% Petit Sirah

2016 produced average yields and high quality fruit in Paso Robles. Few frost spells in winter and little to no rain led to an early bud break at the end of February. A very good fruit set in spring was followed by a warm summer that kept the vines roaring through veraison and maturation. Harvest occurred from August 23rd - October 8th, 2016.
For a region that has been growing grapes since 1797, Paso Robles has all of a sudden become one of the “hottest” AVAs in California. Located midway between Santa Barbara and Monterey, this rolling countryside is synonymous with big, rich, high-character wines. The west portion of Paso Robles enjoys a moderately cool climate thanks to the influence of the nearby Pacific Ocean. This is great ground for Chardonnay. The inland east side is warm and sunny and perfect for Zinfandel, Petite Sirah, Syrah, Grenache, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot.
