2016 Chalk Hill Chairman's Club Malbec, Russian River Valley
Winemaker Notes
The 2016 growing season began with an earlier than average bud break and
fruit set followed by moderate temperatures in spring and summer. This
allowed for even ripening, and balanced flavors. Our 2016 Malbec is a deep
garnet color with expressive aromas of black cherry, violet, tobacco and
sweet vanilla. This wine is dark and bold, with concentrated flavors of ripe
plum, blackberry, espresso and cracked pepper. Dense tannins and a silky
texture round out the palate with a subtle gamey character on the finish.
This wine will age wonderfully over the next 6-8 years.

Production Notes
OUR 2016 MALBEC came from two blocks at our 56-acre Estate West
vineyard located on a contiguous piece of property just across Chalk Hill
Road from the winery. These west-facing sites feature clay, rock and loam
soils that are perfect for Malbec.
