Our 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon offers bold aromas of black currant, plum, tobacco leaf, cedar and a hint of cigar box. On the palate, layered flavors of black cherry, dark berries and dried herbs intermingle with lush flavors of vanilla and sweet oak. Velvety tannins coat the mouth and lead way to a long and smooth finish.

The 2016 growing season began with an earlier than average bud break and fruit set followed by moderate temperatures in spring and summer. This allowed for even ripening, and balanced flavors.
Since it’s founding in 1972, Chalk Hill Estate has been recognized as one of California's benchmark producers. Our 1300+-acre property is located at the convergence of a number of diverse climates, soils and terrains in the northeastern hills of Sonoma County. The fruit for our 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon comes from selected blocks on our 56-acre Estate West vineyard located on a contiguous piece of property just across Chalk Hill Road. This warm, protected site features rocky, porous volcanic soils that are ideal for red Bordeaux varieties.
