2016 Chalk Hill Syrah, Sonoma County
On the nose, our 2016 Syrah offers alluring aromas of black cherry and blueberry, with hints of sweet vanilla oak, dark chocolate and allspice. The palate is rich and luscious with flavors of blackberry jam, black olive, tobacco and dried herbs. Though the tannins are thick and persistent, they are rounded by a smooth and lingering finish.
Food Pairing Notes

Our location in the Chalk Hill AVA in the warm end of the cool Russian River Valley is perfect for bringing out all the unique characteristics of this fabulous variety. Our Syrah is planted on a steep southwest-facing hillside, made up of rocks and volcanic soil. It’s as close to the Rhone Valley as we get!
