2016 Acrobat Chardonnay, Oregon
Fields of exuberant yellow straw come to mind when describing this chardonnay’s color. On the nose, a bouquet of notes ranging from peach and key lime, to gooseberry and dried apricot, shine through. A clean and refined entrance gives way to layers of nectarine, pineapple, and honeydew on the mid-palate. The medium-long finish is fresh, and held together by lively acidity. Enjoy now until 2021.
Sur lie aging for 5 months
100% Stainless Steel
This is a confident and gracious expression of Chardonnay, fermented in stainless steel and untouched by oak. Focused clean and vibrant, this wine pairs well with food and is truly delightful all by itself. The 2016 Oregon Vintage turned out to be another in a string of remarkable years that has blessed the state with ideal growing conditions. The vintage started out early in Western Oregon with average bud break occurring in mid to late March. Unusually warm temperatures in April and May accelerated an “early season effect”, which caused vineyards to go into bloom by the 3rd week of June. The weather cooled substantially through August. The 2016 harvest began in early September and continued unabated until the end of the month, just in time to avoid the onset of rain in October. The 2016 vintage was fermented in 100% stainless steel tanks, which were temperature controlled to maximize fruit character. This wine benefited from sur lie aging for 5 months prior to bottling.
Acrobat Chardonnay is a wine responsibly grown from the beautiful hills and valleys of Western Oregon.
