2015 Three Rivers Merlot, Columbia Valley
This 2015 Columbia Valley Merlot is loaded with ripe dark red fruits. Juicy cherry notes dominate on the nose and palate, inter- laced with a peppery spice.
Food Pairing Notes
This is a well-structured, age worthy Merlot that would pair well with herb crusted lamb chops drizzled with a pomegranate reduction sauce.
90% Merlot , 7% Malbec, 2% Sangiovese, 1% Syrah
17 months in French and American Oak, 30% new
2015 was hot! This resulted in all aspects of the growing season being 2-3 weeks ahead of schedule: bud break, bloom and harvest. Grapes had smaller berry size producing ripe, full bodied wines with great structure. We started picking mid-August and finished by the end of September, for the first time ever. Certainly an exciting vintage with great fruit quality.
