September 14 – October 14, 2015
Aged 16 months in French, Hungarian and American oak
Our Cabernet Sauvignon hails from the Meola Vineyard in Alexander Valley. Known for producing dark, bold Cabernets, Alexander Valley benefits from marine influence offset by warm, sunny days making for balanced and flavorful wines. After harvest, the grapes were whole-cluster pressed and transferred to tank where it was fermented with native yeast and then racked to French, Hungarian and American oak barrels. After 16 months in barrel with regular lees stirring, the wine was bottled.
The 2015 vintage was marked by consistently moderate to warm temperatures throughout the spring and summer. Similar to prior years, it was a very mild and moderate growing season with little rain. Yields were lower than last year with high quality and concentrated fruit. Overall, the grapes came in nicely delivering wines of complexity and elegance. We harvested the fruit from September 14 – October 14, 2015 at optimal ripeness.
