2015 Lincourt Willie Mae Pinot Noir, Sta. Rita Hills
Winemaker Notes
Named after Proprietor Bill Foley’s aunt, our 2015 Willie Mae Pinot Noir is for the cool climate Pinot Noir
connoisseur. Beautiful aromas of spiced red plum and cherry fruit are accented by hints of violet. The palate is light
bodied and delicate with candied red fruit flavors of raspberry, cherry and touches of spicy black pepper. The 30%
new oak results in balanced tannins and an elegant profile.

Production Notes
As part of the original Spanish Land Grant, the Rancho Santa Rosa Vineyard is one of Santa Barbara’s most historic
properties. This beautiful south-facing hillside climbs from 500 to 1,000 feet above sea level. This wine features
Pinot Noir clone 115. Following harvest, the fruit was cold soaked for four days and then fermented in open tops with
regular punch downs to extract maximum color and flavor. It was aged in 100% French oak barrels (30% new) for 18
months.
Vineyard Notes
The 2015 vintage experienced above average temperatures and no hard dormancy. This resulted in early bud break
followed by a cooling period which created a lull in flowering and set, especially in the lower elevation blocks. The
grapes were high in quality with lower than average yields. The fruit had smaller berry size, cluster size and weight
which ultimately translated into intense flavor concentration. As a result, the 2015 vintage is rich, complex, and
intense in character.
