2015 Lincourt Lindsay's Vineyard Pinot Noir, Sta. Rita Hills
Our 2015 Lindsay’s Pinot Noir is a fun and fresh bottling with aromas of red maraschino cherry. The Sta. Rita Hills terroir shines bright on the palate with flavors of juicy black berry, black pepper and faint red raspberry. Hints of spice and dried cranberry intermingle lightly on the finish.
Food Pairing Notes
The fruit driven nature of this wine makes it an excellent pairing with roasted chicken and root vegetables.
100% Pinot Noir
Sta. Rita Hills
August 19 – October 1, 2015
18 months in neutral French oak

This Pinot Noir came from our estate Rancho Santa Rosa vineyard in the Sta. Rita Hills AVA. The fruit was hand-harvested and sorted in the vineyard prior to arrival at the winery. The clusters were then carefully destemmed to keep the berries intact. Additional hand sorting removed any jack stems before the fruit was transferred to stainless steel, open-top fermenters. The juice and skins were cold–soaked for four days prior to fermentation and then gently punched down for several days. After primary fermentation was complete, the new wine was drained and the skins were gently pressed. This Pinot Noir was barrel aged in neutral French oak for 18 months before it was bottled.
The 2015 vintage experienced above average temperatures and no hard dormancy. This resulted in early bud break followed by a cooling period which created a lull in flowering and set, especially in the lower elevation blocks. The grapes were high in quality with lower than average yields, however. The fruit had smaller berry size, cluster size and weight which ultimately translated into intense flavor concentration. As a result, the 2015 vintage is rich, complex, and intense in character.
