2015 Lincourt Courtney's Vineyard Chardonnay, Sta. Rita Hills
Our 2015 Courtney’s Chardonnay is light and fresh opening with soft floral and citrus aromatics. The palate is well balanced with refreshing notes of ocean brine, vanilla bean and a subtle hint of butterscotch on the finish.
Food Pairing Notes
Delicate and nuanced, this wine would pair nicely with a mild semi soft cheese such as Havarti or fontina.

10 months in concrete vessel and neutral French oak
March 28, 2017
As part of the original Spanish Land Grant, Rancho Santa Rosa is one of Santa Barbara’s most historic properties. This beautiful south-facing hillside climbs from 500 to 1,000 feet above sea level. The grapes were gently wholecluster pressed and transferred to juice tank after harvest. Next, after a day of cold-settling, the juice was racked to neutral French oak barrels and a concrete vessel. It was then then fermented using native yeast and bacteria for primary and secondary fermentation. With intention, no new oak was applied to the wine in order to highlight the fruit, terroir, and concrete vessel. After 10 months of aging sur lie in French oak barrels and concrete, the wine was blended and bottled.
The 2015 vintage experienced above average temperatures and no hard dormancy. This resulted in early bud break followed by a cooling period which created a lull in flowering and set, especially in the lower elevation blocks. The grapes were high in quality with lower than average yields, however. The fruit had smaller berry size, cluster size and weight which ultimately translated into intense flavor concentration. As a result, the 2015 vintage is rich, complex, and intense in character.
