The 2015 vintage had a very early start to its growing season. The vines experienced no hard dormancy and above average temperatures resulting in early bud break. The wines produced from the 2015 vintage are rich, complex, and intense in character. The grapes were hand-picked, whole cluster pressed and racked off after absorbing the proper amount of pigment from the skins. In order to preserve and enhance aromatics, fermentation was carried out at a cool 54°F, lengthening the process and producing rich, fruit-forward notes.
Sourced from the Crossroads vineyard in Santa Ynez Valley and Rancho Santa Rosa West vineyard in Sta. Rita Hills, these sites feature cool, maritime climates that accentuate the character of the Grenache and Grüner Veltliner.
