2015 Foley Sonoma Estate Petit Verdot, Alexander Valley
Winemaker Notes
Our 2015 Estate Petit Verdot comes from two blocks on our estate
vineyards. With plenty of exposure throughout the day, this hearty varietal
showcases dark plum, cassis and ripe blackberry tones. All of the rich fruit
is complemented by dark chocolate and toffee. The structure of the wine
is rounded out with finely integrated French oak tannins. Drinking well
now, try this wine decanted to see how quickly the fruit profile grows.

Production Notes
2015 was another warm year with one of our earliest harvests to date.
Yields were lower than the past few growing seasons, but the quality of fruit
was exceptional with concentrated flavors and balanced acidity due to
consistently warm temperatures throughout the season. The grapes were
harvested on October 8, 2015 at optimum ripeness.
Vineyard Notes
Our estate Petit Verdot vineyards are broken into two different blocks
delineated by clone and soil type. The West block is planted to clone 2 on
SO4 rootstock and our East block is planted to clone 200 on 101-14
rootstock. Both blocks benefit from even sun exposure resulting in rich,
multi-layered fruit. After harvest, the grapes were fermented in stainless
steel tanks and racked to French oak barrels (40% new).
