100% Petite Sirah
October 16 – October 17, 2015
The fruit for this Petite Sirah was sourced from the Guenoc Valley located in Lake County, California. The 2015 growing season was early, light and high in quality. Mild temperatures in spring led into warm summer days and cool nights resulting in complex tannin structure and intense flavor profile. The grapes were harvested from October 16 – October 17, 2015. The five acre Serpentine Meadow Vineyard, of which the fruit for this wine was sourced, takes its name from solidified magma, high in magnesium content, fractured to form devigorating soils. Long a source of remarkable Petite Sirah in the North Coast, this moderately dense planting creates small vines, clusters and berries. The grapes are deeply hued offering lovely blackberry flavors, unusually polished tannins and exquisite balance. The diurnal temperature swings of the North Coast produce fruit that is rich, high-character and concentrated.
