2015 Banshee Tina Marie Pinot Noir, Sonoma Coast
93 Points - Antonio Galloni, Vinous
While this vineyard always has a bit of flash, it is turned up this year with notes of freshly zested citrus, bright cherry, and the signature tea note. In the mouth, it is taut and full of energy with bursting red berry flavors married to pine resin, blood orange and a subtle hint of vanilla bean. These flavors carry on throughout the long tangy finish. We envision this wine aging easily and gracefully for at least the next 7-10 years although it will provide equal enjoyment in the short term.
100% Pinot Noir

2015 will likely go down as one of the best in the past decade for the Sonoma Coast. As Antonio Galloni noted in Vinous, “Two thousand fifteen is especially strong for Pinot Noir…the most successful are rapturous, viscerally thrilling wines.” The catch? Yields were painfully low.
Tina Marie Vineyard sits on just under ten beautifully manicured acres west of Graton, CA. Farmed by Ron Black, it is a high-density planting with three clonal selections (115, 777 and 667) and meticulous vineyard practices. Tina Marie was the first vineyard designated wine made at Banshee, with the 2010 inaugural vintage. While there have been many high points since then, the vineyard’s full potential truly came out in the 2015 season.
