Ratings
92 Points - Wine Advocate. "Pale ruby-purple colored, the 2015 Pinot Noir Thorn Ridge Vineyard opens with fragrant notes of fallen leaves, underbrush, wilted roses and dried lavender with a core of kirsch, pomegranate and stewed rhubarb. Light to medium-bodied, it has a great intensity of red berry and earthy layers with fine-grained tannins and plenty of freshness, finishing long and minerally. 225 cases produced."
Winemaker Notes
The aroma of the wine is wild berries inflected with evergreen brush and sage notes. In the mouth, the dominant fruit flavors are wild blackberry and pomegranate combined with framing notes of rose petal and graphite. This medium weight and harmonious wine leads into an energetic and mineral infused finish. While this wine is enjoyable now, it seems ready to age gracefully over the next 10-15 years.

Production Notes
The 2015 vintage represents our third vintage with the site and we feel like we have hit stride as our understanding of the vineyard has deepened. Within the east slope are six distinct blocks on Goldridge soils where we choose a portion from each block, incorporating a variety of clonal material (777, 667, Pommard, 115) and grapes from fairly different elevations.
Vineyard Notes
Thorn Ridge Vineyard is owned and farmed by legendary Sonoma grower Ted Kloppand his daughter, Lauren. It is located in the Sebastopol Hills sub-region of the Sonoma Coast AVA and not far from where we planted our own vineyard in the Spring of 2016. The vineyard is bisected by a ridge top that creates two distinct aspects, one west and the other east facing. We harvest exclusively from the much cooler east-facing slope that looks out on the Santa Rosa basin, while the entire west slope goes to Kosta Browne.
