62% Semillon, 38% Sangiovese
Aged in bottle
Fermented in Stainless Steel
Our Sparkling wine is composed of Semillon and Sangiovese making for an effervescent final blend. The Semillon (62%) is from the Osborn Vineyard on the valley floor, and the Sangiovese (38%) is from hillside fruit from Fanucchi Ranch, each of which are adjacent to Foley Sonoma. The fruit was harvested on the early side to achieve a lower brix (sugar) level for an elegant profile. After harvest, the grapes were fermented in stainless steel and then aged in bottle.
2014 was another early and warm vintage in the Alexander Valley. This resulted in prime flavor development of the fruit to display its finest attributes. Overall, the vintage produced grapes of high quality, dense flavors, and balanced acidity. The grapes were harvested on August 21, 2014 at optimum ripeness.
