2014 Eos Dolcino Rosso, Santa Ynez Valley
Winemaker Notes
Our 2014 Dolcino Rosso is a blend of Malbec and Petit Verdot from select
vineyard sites in the Santa Ynez Valley. It is a dark ruby color with intense
aromas of sweet cherry cobbler, ripe raspberries and chocolate. The palate
is plush and rich with flavors of jammy red fruit that fill every corner of
your mouth. Supple tannins and a hint of spice linger on the finish.

Production Notes
The 2014 vintage was another dry year, with a mild winter that set the stage
for an earlier than average start to harvest. The warm weather continued
after winter, but with few heat spikes for a consistent spring and summer.
Overall, the fruit was high in quality and quantity, with small berry sizes
producing concentrated, more intense flavors.
Vineyard Notes
Over the past two decades the Santa Ynez Valley has emerged as one of
the most celebrated winegrowing regions in California. Formed by the
Purisima Hills and San Rafael Mountains to the north and the Santa Ynez
Mountains to the south, it is the largest AVA in Santa Barbara County.
The cool, western portion of the Santa Ynez Valley is well suited to
Chardonnay and Pinot Noir while the warmer eastern section is home to
aromatic whites such as Viognier, Roussanne, Grenache, and Sauvignon
Blanc as well as bold reds including Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot,
Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot.
