Aromas of plum, blackberry jam, Turkish figs, black olives, and roasted meat. This wine is big with bold tannins and flavors of blackberries, chocolate, vanilla and dusty undertones. A truly delicious treat!

90+ Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate. "Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2014 Carmenère Estate offers earthy, broody, tar and tree bark inspired notes with black and red fruits at the core and an herbal waft. Full-boded, dense and muscular, it has plenty of chewy tannins and freshness, finishing long and expressive." - LPB; 91 Points - Wine Enthusiast.
Winemaker Notes
Carménère is known for its bold dark berry and vegetal notes. Mainly found in Chile today, this unique varietal orginated in Bordeaux, France and is a rare find in the U.S. Our 2014 Carménère displays striking aromas of black cherry jam on the forefront with black tea, pepper and dried herbs. Its silky tannins frame the bold flavors of blackberry, raspberry, green peppercorn and mocha for a velvety finish.

Production Notes
Our estate west vineyard is a spectacular site with a warm south-facing slope perfect for growing red Bordeaux varieties. The rocky, porous volcanic soil challenges the vines. Yields are low, and the grapes are incredibly dark and flavorful. Cabernet Sauvignon thrives here. Our two acres of Carménère were originally planted as an experiment, but it has become a key player in some of our blends. In fact, this wine is composed of 94% Carménère with the balance being Cabernet Sauvignon.
