Pleasant aromas of raspberry, Bing cherry and hints of earthy forest floor mingle. The palate exudes bright red fruit flavors of cherry and cranberry complemented by a focused mid palate of black pepper and light roasted coffee beans.
Bursting with aromas of hawthorn berries, ripe cherry and wild flowers. A small portion of Sangiovese and Cabernet Franc offers a silky and sleek mouthfeel, bright acidity and red fruit flavors. A pleasing and supple finish.
Bouquet of black currant and dark cherry are complemented by notes of tobacco leaf and espresso. The palate is a beautiful compilation of black cherry interlaced with graphite and bergamot tea. Soft tannins and a moderate acidity.
This 2016 Altvs is a delicious bottle of wine. Compared with Merus, it is more classically Cabernet Sauvignon, not as opulent but with great length and ageability. Buy several cases and drink them over the next 20 to 30 years.
The leading aroma is dominated by melted black and red licorice candy smells followed up by super-ripe or sunbaked blackberries. The oak contributes vanilla extract to the fruit and spice. The perfect cold weather sipping wine!
